Wendy Fried, M.D.
Wendy Fried MD is a board certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist in private practice with Northern Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1995. Dr. Fried graduated from The Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York in 1991 with the distinction of AOA-Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, which recognizes the top 2% of medical students in the United States.
She did her Ob/Gyn residency and chief residency at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York from 1991-1995. She has been with Northern Ob/Gyn since 1995 and is also an attending physician in the Department of Ob/Gyn at North Shore University Hospital and is Clinical Assistant Professor at Hofstra North Shore/LIJ Medical School. Dr. Fried actively teaches residents and medical students. She has authored many publications, and lectures extensively in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
She has a special area of expertise and interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, especially advanced hysteroscopic and laparoscopic gynecologic surgery. She is lead author on the textbook “Comprehensive Pocket Atlas of Hysteroscopy” published in 2011 and is a regular contributor to The Woodbury Magazine since its inception in 2003.
Dr. Fried also has special interests in all aspects of low risk as well as high risk obstetrics, multiple gestations, adolescent gynecology, gynecologic cancer screening and menopausal issues.
She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is currently Vice Chair of ACOG District II in New York, and is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. Dr. Fried divides her time between delivering babies, performing surgeries, teaching, lecturing, and seeing patients in her private practice.
